Privacy notice
Last updated: August 2026
This notice explains how your information is handled when you use this website and, in particular, when you send a booking enquiry. The data controller is Owen Grey. You can get in touch at hello@owengrey.co.uk.
What we collect
When you submit the enquiry form we collect the details you provide: your name and email, and optionally your organisation, phone number, and information about your enquiry. For a speaking enquiry that means the event type, topic, date, location, audience, format and budget. For a media enquiry it means the type of work, the production or publication, the subject and your deadline. Your message is included in both cases.
This website does not use analytics or advertising cookies, and does not track you. If a submission fails, the details you typed are held briefly in a cookie on your own device so the form can hand them back to you, and that cookie is deleted as soon as it has been used.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
We use your details solely to respond to your enquiry and discuss a possible speaking or media engagement. The lawful basis is legitimate interests: you have chosen to contact Owen about his work, and replying to you is what you would reasonably expect. We do not use your details for marketing, and we do not sell them.
You can object to this at any time, and we will stop, using the contact details below.
Who we share it with
Your enquiry is delivered by email using Resend (our email provider) and this site is hosted by Netlify. These providers process data on our behalf. Some may process data outside the UK; where that happens, appropriate safeguards (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent) apply. We do not sell your information.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence only for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete it.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your information, and to restrict its use. Because we rely on legitimate interests, you also have the right under Article 21 to object to our use of your details, and we will stop unless we have compelling grounds not to. Contact hello@owengrey.co.uk to do so. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
